About
Nothing is ever really thrown away, just put into a new context. My work is a fantasy world, whose purpose is to make something out of nothing, or at least, whatever you have around you. It is a collection of rag-tag characters that came together to embrace their misfit nature, their past lives, and their unique futures. They are a mad scientist experiment, a result of those thoughts you have in the middle of the night.
These objects I find have been given a second chance through new forms, and isn’t that what everyone wants? To take their past and reform it into something beautiful, useful, or interesting? If I can achieve this goal, then digging through the dumpsters is worth it.
My paintings accompanying the sculptures are further glimpses into the imaginary world inspiring these pieces. The paintings convey an in-between reality, where memories have been half-forgotten, corrupted, but live in harmony with each other nonetheless. All of these pieces urge the viewer to look for the misfits within themselves and enter a space of playfulness, nostalgia, and curiosity. Once you're there, I invite you to stay a while.
I am a multi-media artist living in Lansdale, Pennsylvania with my fiancé Jake and our dog Tink. Currently, I’m an adjunct professor of Drawing and Watercolor.
